ganda ng topic nito. sobrang informative.
ok..
sa experience ko. ito share ko
CAM: >5MP N96 phone
IDEAS: > kulang ako nito, kung ikukumpara mo sa ideas ni Erick B. pero depende sa mood. > Ive watched a lot of sb and fb videos.. at as of now.. kumukuha ako ng mga ideas kung paano nila nilalagyan ng intro yung film bago yung proper na mga bangin tricks nila.

siguro one important aspect of fingerboard filiming is yung place. i mean look at those bonsei concrete ads, parang na sa warehouse sila, yung background parang simple di katulad nung satin na may mga sampayan at kung ano ano pa hahaha. we should work on those

maganda din yung Adobe After Effects (although hindi ko pa nagagamit), advanced video editing sya if you want to apply special effects. Yung mga nakikita mo sa mga movies na explosions or tornados etc. pwede mo iapply dito sa after effects, kelangan nga lang mataas na video card kelangan mo at specs ng pc.

sa camera lng yan. hehe
kung mas mataas yung pixel ng medium na gamit mo, mas clear yung quality. example nlg eh yung sa cp. most of the foncam, yung resolution ng video nun eh 176x144 (6630). altho imaging fon xa, pg inup mo na sa computer (wc has bigger display), dun na nagsisimulang mg "pixelate" ksi parang nka stretch yung 176x144 to 1280x960 or higher. tska blurry yung footage or parang "ghost" images.
ang also consider the FPS(frames per second) ng cam. kahit ganu kataas yung resolution, kpag 3-5 FPS lg kaya, eh tlagang pahinto2 yung galaw.
try this experiment, take a video gamit yung medium mo. then up sa comp. edit. then slomo effect. bilangin mo kung ilang image yung narecord EVERY second. mas maraming image(10+), mas maganda/smooth o graceful ika nga yung motion.
hehe dagdagan nyo guys. and correct me if im wrong

i want to have fish eye na cam. hehe yung convex na lense nya provides wider vision on closer footages. notice nyo sa mga skate vids yung gamit nila sa follow filming eh fish eye lahat. ksi kung yung ordinary lng na cam eh limited or "half body" lng yung makukunan esp kung malapit ang cam.

magaganda na ang mga devices lately so ang magpeplay ng critical role when filming siguro e yung lighting (composed lighting o available light) and of course - the concept.
composed light setup: kapag 1 light setup, (based on my experience) the light source must be behind the cam. una, walang unncessary glare so hindi maapektuhan ang vividness nung video. second, since the light source is facing the same direction ng camera, the light source is providing enough light sa subject. another good thing about this is, maiiwasan ang shadow na pwedeng makadistract when the video is being viewed. hassle kaya whenever you do a 180 tapos hindi na makita yung trick mo kasi nag-cast ng shadow yung siko mo, worse yung buong arm mo. atleast kapag nasa harap mo yung ilaw and cam, everything is clear and well lit.
well, sa 2 or more light setup, it's just a matter of composing it to your liking and depende sa pwesto kung saan ka magsshoot. ikaw ang bahalang magpwesto so, i prefer using study lamps tapos kung masyado namang malakas yung ilaw, gamitan mo nalang ng tracing paper para diffused yung ilaw and para hindi rin masyadong nakakasilaw. usually nagagamit ang maraming light source, kapag sequences na nangangailangan ng light from start to end.
avaliable light: maganda magamit ang available light kapag gusto mo ng konting drama when filming. mas nakakaexcite kasi gumawa ng concept kapag available light lalo na kapag 3pm-4pm (a shade of orange to red orange colors). for example: a small light source coming from a window. minsan pa nga nakakatulong kapag may smoke (from yosi perhaps hehehe).
chase mode: sobrang fan ako nito pero mahirap talaga syang ma-achieve kapag hindi ka na wide angle lens o kaya fisheye lens. iba talaga yung feeling na nakikita mo yung bawat moment up close. the only problem is, kapag ginawa mo to sa indoor with your light setup dahil maraming blind spot and accidental shadow. oks to kapag sa outdoors.
framing: check your spaces. hindi porket kita na ang in and out - OK na. mas maganda kung makikita yung approach and finishing it with a nice ride-away. pero kung masikip talaga yung pwesto, no choice but to transfer and look for a wider "skate" area. siguro 2-3 test shots kuha na ang perfect angle.
a bit of advice: wag mo nalang i-share tapos lalaitin mo rin sarili mo at sasabihin mong "sorry po noob lang, pagtyagaan nyo na". sa totoo lang whenever we watch a video specially dito sa fingerboarding, we focus on how well and how clean the tricks are executed. the concept and filming creativity just highlights the scene. the mere fact na na-ishare mo with your own way of expressing your creativity on how to make your film, that's the most important thing!
